Taguig LGU assists 155 families affected by fire in Western Bicutan 


The Taguig City government has provided assistance to 155 families that were affected by a fire in Barangay Western Bicutan on April 24. 

According to the Taguig City Fire Station, the fire hit a residential area in Purok 7, PNR Site in the barangy. The first alarm was raised at 6:26 a.m. and reached the third alarm at 7:07 a.m. It was put out at 9:02 a.m.

Mayor Lani Cayetano said, “Ikinalulungkot ko pong ibalita na 155 families ang naapektuhan ng sunog na nanalasa sa Purok 7, PNR Site, sa Brgy. Western Bicutan kamakailan (I am saddened to tell you that 155 families were affected by the fire that hit Purok 7, PNR Site, in Barangay Western Bicutan recently).” 

The city government gave the families assistance including food packs, sleeping kits, hygiene kits, and hot meals. 

The affected families are currently staying at evacuation sites at Purok 10 open court and Nagmana Chapel. 

Cayetano said the city government also gave them financial assistance while the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) provided them with kitchen and family sets on April 25.
