PNP: Guns, grenade, ammo seized as CIDG raids Rep. Teves’ property in Negros Oriental

The Philippine National Police (CIDG) raided a house allegedly owned by Negros Oriental Third District Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr. in Basay town on Friday morning, March 10.

A report from the CIDG said that elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), in coordination with the Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) and the 11th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army (PA), conducted the operation at Purok 4 in Brgy. Poblacion around 5:50 a.m.

The CIDG said the operation was covered by two search warrants, Search Warrants Nos. 83-03-013 and 83-03-012, for alleged illegal possession of explosives, unlicensed firearms, and ammunition.

The CIDG said that operating troops found inside the property a caliber .45 pistol and a magazine, a rifle scope, a hand grenade, seven pieces of ammunition for caliber .45 pistol, and 50 rounds of ammunition for caliber 40 pistol. 

Authorities also discovered a caliber .40 Glock pistol with magazine and another caliber .40 pistol with magazine – both with licenses – but the CIDG said they will verify its documents first.

The CIDG said that the police also arrested an occupant of the house during the service of the search warrant.
