Indian nabbed for robbery, illegal possession of firearms in QC


Quezon City Police District (QCPD) personnel arrested an Indian national for a foiled robbery attempt and illegal possession of firearms in Quezon City on Thursday, March 9.

Maj. Don Don Llapitan, QCPD Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU) commander, identified the suspect as Jagdeep Singh Brar, 30, of Barangay Batasan Hills, Quezon City.

According to the police, the victim, Teody Gines Dichoso Jr., a Grab driver, was sitting on a gutter near Trees Residence Condominium along Quirino Highway, Brgy. Pasong Putik Proper, Novaliches, in the city at around 9 p.m. on Thursday.

The suspect suddenly approached and pointed a gun at him.

Brar tried to take Dichoso's belt bag but the victim resisted and was able to run and shout for help.

Patrolling police officers in the area responded and immediately arrested the suspect.

Seized from the suspect were one (1) Smith and Wesson cal. 38 revolver loaded with two live ammunition; and one fired cartridge case.

Brar will be charged for Robbery and Violation of Republic Act 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office, the QCPD said.
