‘Amihan’ still prevails over Luzon, Western Visayas — PAGASA

The northeast monsoon, locally called “amihan,” still prevails, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies and light rains over Luzon and Western Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Thursday, March 9.

Luzon and Western Visayas may also continue to experience colder weather due to the amihan.

Meanwhile, Mindanao and the rest of Visayas will continue to have fair weather as they may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with a chance for isolated rain showers and thunderstorms from localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA warned against possible flooding or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Moreover, no gale warning is currently raised over any of the country’s seaboards, as the sea will be moderate to rough over the eastern section of the Philippines and light to moderate over the rest of the country..

PAGASA said small boats and other sea vessels are safe to sail.
