2 NPA leaders in Batangas surrender

CAMP GEN. VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Two officials of the Sangay ng Partido sa Lokalidad (SPL) of the New People’s Army (NPA) surrendered to the police on Wednesday morning, March 8, in Barangay San Pioquinto in Malvar, Batangas. The Police Regional Office (PRO) 4-A identified the surrenderers as alias “Maricel,” SPL-San Pioquinto secretary, and alias ‘’Josie,’’ vice secretary. Police said their surrender was a result  of inter-unit collaboration and hard work between them and the Armed Forces of the Philippines under the strategic guidance and instruction of the regional office to actively pursue and support the Philippine National Police chief Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr.’s peace and security strategic framework program MKKK (Malasakit, Kaayusan, Kapayapaan, at Kaunlaran) and intensify the campaign and dismantling of the NPA in Southern Luzon.
