Transport group leaders announced in the early hours of Wednesday, March 8, 2023, that they will be cutting short what was supposedly a weeklong transport strike after they got an assurance from Malacañang that President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will be asking for a review of the contentious Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) Modernization Program.
Marcos also vowed to expedite the oil spill cleanup in the waters off Oriental Mindoro, not like a similar cleanup operation in Guimaras 17 years ago that took four months to complete.
The President likewise disclosed that plans are afoot to increase the number of Kadiwa stores so that these could serve Filipinos on a nationwide scale.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) explains what happened in Davao de Oro, which was recently struck by successive earthquakes, ranging from light to moderate.
Details of these major reports, as well as that of other important stories, are but a click away in the MB Daily News Update this Wednesday afternoon, March 8, 2023.
