TACLOBAN CITY – The provincial government of Leyte has passed an ordinance establishing the provincial food supply and price monitoring system in the province.
In line with this, Gov. Jericho Petilla said they launched a mobile digital application on Wednesday, March 7, that can be found in their website leyteprovince.gov.ph.
The project was launched under Provincial Ordinance 2023-01 approved by the Sangguniang Panlalawigan in February.
Petilla stressed the right of consumers to know the prices of basic commodities to enable them to decide where to purchase.
The PriceEAT app allows consumers to know and compare prices of food and other agricultural products in each municipality and city.
Under price monitoring, a consumer may search for available products in establishments per municipality.
All city and municipal agriculture offices were urged to participate and designate personnel who will monitor the prices of agricultural commodities every Tuesday and Friday.
