Caraga police chief Brig. Gen. Pablo G. Labra II said these vehicles were procured by the Philippine National Police Bids and Awards Committee using funds from the Capability Enhancement Program 2022.
These were officially blessed and turned over in the presence of ranking police and government officials here on Tuesday, March 7.
The mobility assets were given to the Carmen Municipal Police Station (MPS), Jabonga MPS, and RTR Municipal Police Station in Agusan del Norte; Burgos MPS, General Luna MPS, Gigaguit MPS, Placer MPS, and Taganaan MPS in Surigao del Norte; and Barobo MPS in Surigao del Sur.
Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace S. Barbers, guest of honor and speaker of the turnover ceremony, cited Labra for initiating and expediting the processing of these patrol vehicles which is a big plus factor for the operational capability of the provincial commands in the region.
‘’To our policemen, keep on doing your job and ensure that the image of the organization is changed with the lives of the people,’’ Barbers said, adding: “Let them trust us again, give them that confidence to report any criminality or illegal activities in the locality.”
Labra said these logistical resources bestowed by the chief PNP, Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr., would significantly enhance law enforcement operations and improve police response.
“These brand new cars are really a big help in our operational capability,” Labra said.
