Parañaque LGU offers 'Libreng Sakay' on transport strike week
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez announced that around 60 vehicles will be deployed to offer “Libreng Sakay” or free rides to commuters during the weeklong transport group strike set on Monday, March 6 to 12.
Olivarez said the city government also lifted the color coding scheme in the city during the entire transport strike.
He said all public and private schools in the city will shift to online classes as an alternative learning method for daycare to college-level students during the week-long strike.
Olivarez said face-to-face classes will resume immediately once the transport strike ended.
The mayor said that Department of Education Schools Division of Parañaque Superintendent Dr. Evangeline Ladines already announced that all schools in the city will implement the asynchronous and synchronous method learning for students on March 6 to 10.
He added that the other reason for shifting to online and modular classes was due to the three-day water service interruption implemented by Maynilad.
Nine barangays in the city will experience water service interruption starting today, Sunday, March 5 until 7.
The city government said the water service interruption was implemented due to the repair of a 2.200 mm-diameter primary line along Osmena Highway corner Zobel Roxas St in Makati City.
