P3PWD Party-list nominee Rowena Guanzon has proposed her own version of the P10,000 "ayuda" or government subsidy for Filipino families.
In a tweet Friday, March 3, Guanzon said that the proposed budget of P28 billion for the planned constitutional convention (con-con) could be used to fund a P10,000 subsidy for 2.8 million poor Filipino families.
"28Billion for Con Con? Ipamigay na yan sa mahihirap. Sa 10K bawat pamilya ,makatanggap 2.8Million ka pamilyang mahihirap (Let's just give that to the poor. So 10K for every family means, 2.8 million poor families could benefit from it)," she wrote.
There's an aggressive push in the House of Representatives to form a con-con for the purpose of coming up with possible amendments to the 1987 Constitution. The proposed con-con will have 314 delegates who will be entitled to salaries and allowances.
The con-con is one of three modes by which Charter change (Cha-cha) can be carried out. The other two are via constituent assembly (con-ass) and people's initiative (PI).
Whether or not Guanzon's take on a P10,000 ayuda will go viral like that of former House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano's remains to be seen.
