The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has arrested four more foreign fugitives wanted by authorities in their respective countries for involvement in serious crimes. Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said they were arrested in separate operations conducted by operatives from the BI’s fugitive search unit (FSU) in Cavite and Makati City. “They will all be deported for being undesirable aliens and will be included in our blacklist to prevent them from re-entering the Philippines," the BI chief said. All four foreigners are now detained at the BI detention center in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending deportation proceedings. BI-FSU chief Rendel Ryan Sy said a Korean named Lee Choong Ho, 63, was arrested in Bacoor City last Feb. 27. Lee is the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the Daegu district court in Korea where he was charged with extortion for demanding and receiving 9.6 billion won, around P400,000, from a compatriot through intimidation and violence. On March 1, FSU operatives arrested along Amorsolo Drive, Makati City Taiwanese national Wu Jheng Long, 34, who is wanted by a district court in Kaohsiung, Taiwan for his alleged links to a  syndicate that sells illegal drugs and engages in telecommunications fraud. That same day, two other Taiwanese nationals, Chen Chien Ning, 53, and Yang Zong Bao, 31, were arrested in Calumpang St. and Tamarind Road in Makati City. Chan was reportedly issued an arrest warrant by the district prosecutor’s office in Chiayi, Taiwan where he stands accused of being a member of a syndicate that sells illegal drugs and engages in telecom fraud and kidnap for ransom activities. Yang, on the other hand, is wanted by the district prosecutor’s office in Kaohsiung, Taiwan for alleged involvement in the clandestine production of illegal drugs.
