“Hurry up,” Jin wrote to which J-Hope replied, “LOL.” J-Hope will be the next member of BTS to enlist in the military.

Jin enlisted on Dec. 13 as an active duty soldier and entered the 5th Infantry Division recruit training center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province.

Last January, it was announced that he was selected as an assistant instructor in the 5th Infantry Division recruit training center. He will be discharged from the military on June 12, 2024 after 18 months.

On Feb. 26, Big Hit Music, BTS' agency, announced that J-Hope started the process by applying to  cancel his enlistment postponement, an option given to BTS that would allow them to postpone their military service until age 30.

“We would like to inform our fans that J-Hope has initiated the military enlistment process by applying for the termination of his enlistment postponement. We will inform you of further updates in due course,” the agency said.

It added, “We ask you for your continued love and support for J-Hope until he completes his military service and safely returns. Our company will spare no effort in providing support for our artist.”

J-Hope released his solo single “on the street” with J. Cole on March 3.
