Will we finally see a Bosita-Nebrija face-off?

1-RIDER Party-list Rep. Bonifacio Bosita may finally get to have a face-off with Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Task Force Special Operations and Anti-Colorum Unit chief Edison Bong Nebrija next week. This meeting, should it happen, will take place in Bosita's territory in the House of Representatives. Nebrija is reportedly among the MMDA officials invited to attend a public briefing to be held by the House Committee on Metro Manila Development this coming Wednesday, March 8. Manila 2nd district Rep. Rolando Valeriano chairs the committee, while Bosita is a member for the minority bloc. Fireworks are expected at the briefing since it will tackle the alleged questionable road clearing operations of MMDA in Manila, which Valeriano himself as described as "a disrespect to the city". While the issue does not directly concern Bosita, the House panel proceedings on March 8 will be his first opportunity to shoot the breeze with Nebrija, no holds barred. For those unfamiliar, Bosita and Nebrija represented opposite sides of the "tsinelas (slippers)" traffic issue that trended in 2021. Bosita, founder of the Riders’ Safety Advocates of the Philippines (RSAP), claimed that it was all right for motorcycle back-riders to wear slippers instead of shoes. Nebrija, EDSA's traffic czar at the time the issue emerged, said that the wearing of flip-flops in this instance violated a traffic rule. Bosita and Nebrija both have huge social media followings. Needless to say, it would be interesting to see whether or not the two would revisit their debate, this time in the "House of the People", and not on the road.
