MB Daily News Update: 'Manibela' adamant about plans to go on transport strike
A major transport group has made it clear: Revoke a Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) memo on the planned jeepney phaseout, or face the consequences of a week-long transport strike.
And they may have found an ally in President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. who said that, while modernization of public utility vehicles (PUVs) is inevitable, the process being followed to implement this was not efficient.
Meanwhile, Marcos had a flurry of activities on Wednesday, March 1, 2023, as he visited two Kadiwa-related events, as well as the inauguration of a Batangas sardine plant, before returning to Manila to welcome Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
And in the latest development concerning the hazing death of an Adamson University chemical engineering student, the father of a person-of-interest in the crime was arrested after he tried to prevent police from seizing the vehicle which was reportedly used to transport the victim. The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has also joined the probe on the death of the student.
Details of these major stories, as well as that of other important reports, are but a click away in the MB Daily News Update this Wednesday afternoon.
