Man pushes live-in partner off bridge in Quezon at height of heated argument
TAYABAS CITY, Quezon - A 28-year-old female city government employee fell into the river here after her live-in partner pushed her off Malagonlong bridge in Barangay Lakawan on Tuesday evening, Feb. 28.
The Tayabas Police identified the victim as Verlyn Obcemia, who works in the city government of Tayabas and a resident of Barangay Dapdap, while the suspect was her live-in partner identified as Jerome Cabuyao, 33, a member of city traffic enforcement and a resident of Barangay Calumpang.
Tayabas City Police chief Lt. Col. Bonna Obmerga said that at around 10:35 p.m., the police received information from a concerned citizen about the incident.
The responding policemen learned that the victim and the suspect, who left a birthday party on board a motorcycle, stopped at the said bridge and had a heated argument.
The exchange of argument turned from bad to worse as the man pushed the woman off the bridge.
The woman sustained injuries on different parts of her body. She was brought by the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office personnel to the Quezon Medical Center in Lucena City.
The man escaped and is now being hunted by the police.
