Las Piñas LGU distributes vegetables harvested from Agriculture Teaching Farm


The local government of Las Piñas City distributed vegetables harvested from the Agriculture Teaching Farm to the City Nutrition Office on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the City Agriculture Office donated 38 kilos of kangkong and 20 kilos of pechay to the City Nutrition Office for its program that give nutritious food to malnourished children.

She said the harvested vegetables will then be distributed to the city's barangays with identified malnourished kids.

The City Agriculture Office introduced urban farming to help the city residents plant vegetables in their backyards.

Aguilar said urban farming became very useful to residents during the Covid-19 pandemic.

She said the urban farming project of the City Agriculture Office was also brought to different schools with the distribution of free seedlings, organic fertilizers and garden soils  to students who have learned gardening through hydroponics.
