Atelier Zuhra Dubai’s creative director presents a collection that is all about purity, innocence, and renewal
After dressing music superstar Beyoncé during her Atlantis The Royal performance in Dubai, Atelier Zuhra graced London Fashion Week as it presented its latest couture collection last Feb. 18, 2023. Leading this style invasion is its creative director, Filipino designer Ryan Pacioles.

To make the collection, Ryan looked at the beauty of the Lily of the Valley flower for inspiration, creating a collection that is all about purity, innocence, renewal, and, of course, opulence. Aptly titled “Lily of the Valley,” the collection featured garbs fit for royals. Handcrafted cocktail dresses and gowns made of tulle and taffeta, among others, paraded the runway. Each piece was created with timeless glamor in mind, resulting in pieces with dramatic silhouettes that t under the chandeliers of the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in Central London.
“Lily of the Valley is often associated with elegance and refinement in the world of high fashion,” Ryan tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle. “This collection is a celebration of the delicate beauty and timeless elegance of one of nature’s most treasured flowers. It showcases the best of haute couture, and a deep respect for the timeless beauty of the Lily of the Valley.”
Adding to the beauty of his collection was the Lily of the Valley flower motif demonstrated through delicate beading, intricate embroidery, acrylic beads, and shimmering crystals, making every piece shine under the chandeliers of the De Vere Grand Connaught Rooms in Central London. For him, the floral design element added a touch of fantasy and ultra-femininity to his works.
“Each piece in the collection is a work of art, expertly crafted to evoke the delicate grace and refinement of this iconic flower,” he muses.
Ryan’s life in fashion started with his lifelong passion and a keen interest in clothing and design at a young age. With his dedication, he made his way to the Middle East where became exposed to the alluring and opulent world of haute couture fashion.
This is not the first time Ryan showcased a collection at London Fashion Week. In fact, it is his fourth time being part of the style fest. But still, he described the experience as a surreal one. “It is an incredible experience to have the opportunity to display our collection on an international runway,” Ryan says.
With the “Lily of the Valley” collection, Ryan invites everyone to a journey of metamorphosis and, much like the flower, bloom into their best self.
“The ‘Lily of the Valley’ collection is designed to evoke feelings of purity, innocence, and renewal, as these are commonly associated with the flower. The collection conveys a sense of natural beauty and simple yet elegant,” Ryan says. “It is conceptual, using the flower as a symbol of rebirth or growth, and transformation.”
