Rep. Remulla took his oath of office in front of House Speaker Martin Romualdez during the plenary session Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 28.

Rep. Remulla is the son of Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin "Boying" Remula, who is his direct predecessor in the district.

The elder Remulla won a fresh term as Cavite 7th district congressman during the May 2022 national elections. However, he was tapped as justice secretary by then-President-elect Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. just a few weeks later.

Being recruited to the Cabinet meant that the elder Remulla had to vacate his House seat.

Earlier, a special congressional election was held in Cavite's 7th district to determine who will assume the vacated position. Ping , who ran under the National Unity Party (NUP), won.
