3 dead, 1 hurt in three-car crash in Batangas

  LIPA CITY, Batangas – Three persons died and another was injured in a collision involving three vehicles before dawn on Sunday, Feb. 26, on JP Laurel Highway, Barangay Inosluban, this city. Police identified the victims as Ron Michael Sombrano, driver of a pickup truck; and Edison Maranan, motorcycle driver, and his female back rider. Investigation said Sombrano’s vehicle bumped Maranan’s motorcycle which was dragged along with the female victim until it rammed a car owned by Benjamin Maglinao parked on the road shoulder. Maglinao’s car struck a concrete wall due to the impact and the pickup overturned and rested at the center of the highway. The victims were taken to a hospital where they died. Sombrano’s passenger was injured in the head and was taken to a hospital.
