Caloocan LGU holds pageant to celebrate women empowerment
The Caloocan City government on Saturday, Feb. 25, held the grand coronation night of the Miss Caloocan 2023 at the Caloocan Sports Complex.
Caloocan City Mayor Dale Gonzalo "Along" Malapitan led the coronation night, saying they are celebrating woman empowerment through the event, including the passion, grace, and beauty of Filipinas.
The city government said the pageant is part of its 61st Founding Anniversary and aims to showcase the different advocacies of the 22 candidates for their fellow city residents.
“Umaasa po ako na magiging inspirasyon kayo at ang inyong dedikasyon sa bawat Batang Kankaloo, lalo na ang inyong pagpapahayaag ng saloobin at pakikiisa sa mga programang panlipunan (I hope that you and your dedication will inspire the residents of Caloocan, especially your expression of your thoughts and cooperation to the the programs for the society),” Malapitan said.
During the event, Natasha Jung of Barangay 179 was crowned as the Miss Caloocan 2023. She recieved P150,000 cash and various products from the pageant's sponsors, including
Zel'e Wellness Center, San Miguel Corporation, Fame Leaders Academy, OhMyGirl Nail Polish, Mane 'n Tail, Mestiza and V Brows Microblading.
Patricia Agapito of Barangay 93 was named first runner-up, followed by Kairi Clemente of Barangay 186 (second runner-up), Ma. Christine Ordeviza of Barangay 178 (third runner-up) and Juliana Losito of Barangay 176 (fourth runner-up). They all received cash prizes.
The esteemed judges for the said event include Miss Universe 2016 Top 6 Maxine Medina,
Aubrey N. Malapitan, the mayor's wife, Fashion Designer Anthony Ramirez, Television Host Dianne Medina, and Chairman for Tourism and Cultural Affairs Councilor L.A. Asistio.
Malapitan said he also hopes for the 22 candidates to continue their advocacies for the residents so that the city will have more leaders who will help the local goverment in solving various issues in the society.
