UST, Delta Sportswear forge partnership

University of Santo Tomas forged a partnership with Delta Sportswear to be the official outfitter of the Growling Tigers come the UAAP Season 86 men's basketball tournament.

Institute of Physical Education and Athletics (IPEA) director Fr. Rodel Cansancio, OP and team managers Waiyip Chong and Eric Ang signed the agreement with Delta Sportswear president Destine Javelona on Wednesday.

"We're glad to find another partner in this endeavor and we're excited to have Delta Sportswear as a part of our team in bringing glory back to UST," said Chong.

"Delta Sportswear is a welcome addition to our family and we're excited to have their gears for our players and coaches," said Ang.

Delta Sportswear will provide the game jerseys and practice uniforms, as well as provide official merchandise for the coaches and soon, the fans.

It previously served as the official outfitter of the Phoenix Fuel Masters in the PBA, the San Miguel Alab Pilipinas in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL), the FamilyMart-Enderun Titans in the PBA D-League, the PetroGazz Angels in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL), and the Filoil EcoOil Preseason Cup.

UST is embarking on a fresh start with legendary coach Pido Jarencio at the helm as it looks to once again compete for the crown it last won in 2006.
