The Parañaque City government conducted a blood-letting activity on Wednesday, Feb. 22, in line with the 493rd Worldwide Blood Drive.
Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez said 300 individuals joined the blood-letting activity held at the Ospital ng Parañaque District (OsPar)-2 located at Dona Soledad, Parañaque City.
Olivarez said the blood collected will be donated to the Las Piñas General Hospital and Satellite Trauma Center, while half of it will be for city residents who need an immediate blood transfusion.
The mayor was joined by International WeLoveU Foundation (IWF) Parañaque City Branch Director Phil Park, Ospital ng Parañaque 2 (OsPar 2) Hospital Director Dr. Patrick Ismael P. Cruz II, City Health Office assistant officer-in-charge Dr. Himmler Cos.
Olivarez also thanked the IWF Parañaque City Branch for its continued support to the city government.
He said the OsPar 2 was inaugurated last Feb. 10 after the Department of Health-Metro Manila Center for Health Development (DOH-MMCHD) issued its license last December to operate as a level 1 hospital.
The mayor added that the city government is also giving free healthcare services at the city-run hospital, OsPar 1 and OsPar 2.
