Twenty-two lovely ladies from Caloocan City showcased their talents and advocacies to prove that they've got what it takes to be the rightful local government ambassador, or Miss Caloocan 2023.
The Miss Caloocan 2023 Grand Coronation Night will be held on Feb. 25 at the Caloocan Sports Complex, but before this, organizers pulled out all the stops for an elaborate pre-pageant show at the Manila Diamond Hotel last weekend. The candidates explained the causes they were espousing, displayed their talents, and strutted around in their swimwear.

The pageant is being held in line with the celebration of Caloocan's 61st founding anniversary. No less than the youthful Mayor Dale Gonzalo "Along" Malapitan and his wife Aubrey were present to give support and encouragement to the candidates. They noted that the winner of Miss Caloocan 2023 will undoubtedly serve as an inspiration to the city's youth and work closely with the city government in amplifying vital programs.
The mayor extended his warm greetings to the contestants. "Congratulations to all our ladies. You are a great representation of our beloved city. Beautiful, wise, talented and determined."
"I know that each one of you has their own advocacies. I hope that you will always embody compassion and concern towards others, no matter what the result of the competition is, because this is the spirit of what a true Kankaloo (resident of Caloocan) is all about," Mayor Along said in the vernacular.
Other VIPs present during the pre-pageant show were Caloocan Rep. Oca Malapitan, Councilor LA Asistio, Councilor Abba Sicat of Orani, Bataan, and Nap Magno of San Miguel Corp.

The pre-pageant competition board of judges was composed of movie actor Rob Sy, Miss Caloocan 2018 winner Pamela Blanca Villacorte and Oliver Uy, president of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry - Caloocan Chapter .
