Cherry Pie Picache, Joel Lamangan campaign for truth about 1986 EDSA Revolution in 'Oras de Peligro'

Lawyer Howard Calleja stresses a point during a media conference for the upcoming movie 'Oras de Peligro'

Award-winning actress Cherry Pie Picache said that she's hopeful the Filipinos will see the truth about the EDSA Revolution in 1986 when they watch "Oras de Peligro" in theaters beginning March 1.

"One of the beauties of 'Oras de Peligro' is actual and factual footage that happened during that time. So paano ka makakapagsinungaling doon? Yun ang importante na mapanood lalong lalo na ng mga kabataan na hindi naranasan yung EDSA Revolution," said Cherry Pie during a presscon in Quezon City recently.

She added: "It's very vital these days to campaign for disinformation. Hindi ito para kumita lang but this is for every Filipino."

Cherry Pie said that she was 16 when the EDSA Revolution happened. She recalled she and her family went to EDSA. "Pumunta kami ng family ko sa EDSA. Annapolis to be exact.

Lawyer Howard Calleja, one of the producers of the movie, repeated that "Oras de Peligro" is not a political movie.

The producer said that he will fight for the movie.

Asked if he would be interested to collaborate with director Darryl Yap in the future, the award-winning director answered: "Not interested. Mag-aaway lang kami. Mabuti pang hiwalay lang kami. I cannot work with somebody like him."

Direk Joel said that the movie is about the struggles of a poor family during the final days of the Marcos administration.

The famed director stressed that "Oras de Peligro" is not an answer to the blockbuster film “Maid In Malacanang” which tells the story of the last four days of the Marcoses in Malacanang.

“Oras de Peligro" will be the inaugural project for Bagong Siklang Productions. The docu-style drama is written by Eric Ramos and Bonifacio Ilagan.
