The Pasig City local government and the Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) on Monday, Feb. 20, for the expansion of its business one-stop shop (BOSS) services.
Among the signatories were Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, RLC Executive President Faraday Go, RLC VP for Operations and Marketing and Business Development Joel S. Lumanlan, and City Administrator Jeronimo Manzanero.
City Assistant Administrator Diego Santiago, and Business Permit and Licensing Department (BPLD) Head Melanie de Mesa were also witnesses to the MOA signing.
Through the MOA, the offices of the Manggahan Annex BOSS at Kaginhawaan Road, Karangalan Village in Barangay Manggahan will be transferred to the Robinsons Metro East mall in Barangay Dela Paz.
The Metro East Annex will be able to service business owners and residents in five barangays, namely Manggahan, Dela Paz, Santolan, Sta. Lucia, and Rosario.
The local government said that around 23 percent of businesses (or 6,833 businesses) will benefit from the transfer and expansion.
Aside from the usual business transactions, the Metro East Annex BOSS will also be able to offer health and barangay services, as well as catering to senior citizens’ documentary needs among others beginning mid-2023.
“This expansion is a welcome intervention that will further streamline the processes and transactions, ease doing business, and curb anti-red tape. After all, business taxes are the lifeblood of the City Government, since half of Pasig City’s income is from business taxes; it is only right that we continuously put forward initiatives that will make it easier to do business in Pasig,” said Sotto in a press release.
“We welcome and support Pasig City’s initiative by providing a convenient mall ambiance, ample parking, and comfortable airconditioned queuing area and much more for those seeking the services of the LGU,” said RLC EVP Go.
The BOSS partnership with the Pasig local government is in line with RLC’s Lingkod Pinoy Center program that aims to bring convenience to communities by providing ease of access to government services.
Last Nov. 19, 2022, Sotto and other city officials and RLC executives inspected the planned Metro East Annex BOSS at the third floor of the mall.
Aside from the wide space that can accommodate the BOSS offices, a walkway that connects the mall and the Light Rail Transit (LRT-2), as well as the building’s available parking were highlighted as significant features for the relocation site.
Pasig inaugurated its first BOSS site at the Ayala Malls 30th in Barangay Ugong, Pasig City last January 2021. A MOA was signed between the local government and Ayala Malls on Sept. 8, 2022 to expand its service center.
The Ayala 30th BOSS caters to taxpayer-clients from Barangays Ugong, San Antonio, Oranbo, Kapitolyo, and Pineda.
