The Quezon 3rd District Engineering Office of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported that the Catanauan Diversion Road in Catanauan, Quezon is halfway complete.
District Engineer Jorge Pasia said in a report to DPWH Region 4-A Director Jovel Mendoza said that the project is a four-lane concrete road and has four two-lane concrete bridges in Barangays Canculajao, Cawayanin, Tagbacan, and Pacabit.
The project with a total length of 8.337 kilometers starts in Sitio Mangarong, Barangay Matandang Sabang Kanluran and ends in Sitio Matungao, Barangay Madulao.
Pasia said the project will spur much-needed economic growth by fostering quicker trade of goods and services and
expand opportunities for Catanauan, nearby municipalities Mulanay, General Luna, Lopez, and Buenavista, and other immediate influence areas.
It will attract domestic and international tourists because of its proximity to popular tourist destinations and exotic locations in the region, Pasia added.
The project is 52.09 percent complete based on the total fund released from 2018 to 2022.
