Sam Verzosa says he and Rhian Ramos are still very much together

Rep. Sam Verzosa

Frontrow CEO and Tutok To Win party list Representative Sam Verzosa has belied rumors of a split with his girlfriend, actress Rhian Ramos. He said they are still together, being the "best version" of themselves in their relationship.

Verzosa spoke to the media after the launching of his public service show, "Dear SV," at the Luxent Hotel in Quezon City. It will premiere on CNN Philippines on Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m.

The congressman acknowledged that rumors of a split with Rhian started when they unfollowed each other on Instagram.

"For me, a follow or unfollow does not define a relationship. Social media is not a validation of a couple's status, whether it's happy or not," he noted.

"Rhian and I are okay. We talk everyday, we text each other everyday and actually, she was at the hospital visiting my father, until my papa died. She was also at the wake," he added.

"Ako, normal sa akin ang hindi pagkakaintindihan. Ang importante nakakapag-usap kayo at naaayos nyo ang lahat. Makikilala nyo ang isa't isa, lalo kayong nagma-mature. And now we're striving to be the best version of ourselves," he pointed out.

(For me, misunderstandings are normal in a relationship. What's important is you both communicate and iron out differences. This way, you will really get to know each other and be more mature.)

Asked whether there are marriage talks with Rhian, Sam said they are still in the "getting to know each other" stage. (Note that they first went public as a couple in August of last year.)

"What's important is we love each other, we're there to support each other. Whatever label you prefer to call it, it's all up to you," he stressed.

The Frontrow CEO narrated that he has been getting valuable hosting tips from Rhian and another close friend, Willie Revillame.

Sam revealed that "Dear SV" is his dream show which is perfectly in line with his goal of being closer to people from all walks of life and sharing their stories of resilience.

"Legislation is a new territory for me, that's why I take it seriously. But the public service side is something I am familiar with. That's why I fell in love with the concept of the show when they first pitched it. It is really tailored- fit to my advocacy of helping people. That's why I said yes right away, especially since it is aired on a mainstream media platform like CNN Philippines," Sam said.

"Dear SV" will feature tales of ordinary Filipinos who never lose hope and remain strong despite the struggles and challenges they face everyday. The show will guide chosen individuals and communities on how to improve their status in life through Verzosa's advocacies for sustainable livelihood, scholarships, employment and financial assistance.

Sam revealed that "Dear SV" is a tribute to his father who died last week.

"My siblings and I learned from him early in life the true meaning of kindness and generosity. My dad would always remind his children to share our blessings and never forget to give back," he recalled.
