Over 300 jobseekers flock to Mega Job Fair in Pasig City 


Around 338 jobseekers registered to participate in this year’s first Mega Job Fair on Friday afternoon, Feb. 17, organized and led by the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the Pasig City local government.

The job fair was held at SM City East Ortigas in Pasig City from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Out of the 338 registered applicants, 143 were hired on the spot, according to PESO.

Some 58 local companies showcased their job offers to the applicants during the event.

In cooperation with the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), three overseas agencies joined the event.

Personnel from two government agencies, namely the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), were also present at the fair to screen applicants.

Aside from employment opportunities, the mega job fair also featured a one-stop shop for applicants to process their employment requirements.

These services include the processing of documents from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Social Security System (SSS), Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Pag-Ibig, and Philhealth.

First time jobseekers received free processing of requirements upon presentation of the First Time Jobseekers Certificate and Oath of Undertaking from their respective barangays.

Pasig City Vice Mayor Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr. and some members of the 11th City Council attended the opening of the fair.

On his social media page, Jaworski assured Pasiguenos of the local government’s efforts in ensuring continuous support for jobseekers to access employment opportunities.
