Church official invites sick to visit shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes
Rev. Fr. Jefferson Agustin, OFM Cap., rector and parish priest of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in Quezon City, is inviting the sick to visit the shrine to pray for their healing.
The Church official said the shrine is always open to welcome the faithful particularly the sick who may visit every Saturday at 6:30 a.m. for the rosary procession followed by a healing mass at 7:30 a.m.
Fr. Agustin said visitors to the shrine may be blessed with both physical and spiritual healing.
“When you visit the shrine, may you experience and be blessed with healing from our Lord Jesus through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes,” said Fr. Agustin over Radio Veritas.
After two years, feast day activities were once again held at the shrine on Feb. 11 on the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes including holy masses, processions, a medical mission, and blood-letting activities among others. The feast coincided with the observance of World Day of Sick which carried the theme “Take care of him.”
Papal Nuncio Archbishop Charles John Brown presided over the concelebrated holy mass with Cubao Bishop Honesto F. Ongtioco and Franciscan Capuchin priests from the parishes in the diocese.
“When we experience sickness, our faith in God grows as Jesus accompanies us in our illness. He will never let us down,” the priest said.
Fr. Agustin, likewise, reminded the faithful of their mission as evangelizers and to help spread the Word of God.
