NBI probes disappearance of events photographer in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY (PNA) – The National Bureau of Investigation in the Zamboanga Peninsula (NBI-9) is investigating the disappearance of an events photographer in this city, an official said on Wednesday, Feb. 15.

NBI-9 Director Moises Tamayo said Erwin John Nuñal has been missing for almost two months and was last seen by his relatives and friends on Dec. 23 last year.

Nuñal, 44, is staying alone at the family-owned two-story house in Barangay Tetuan here since all of his family members are based in the United States.

“The family members (mother and siblings) are worried, they asked for our assistance to investigate his disappearance,” Tamayo said.

Initial findings by the agency revealed that Nuñal went missing amidst a heavy downpour in this city last December.

On Tuesday, the NBI recovered Nuñal’s motorcycle in the possession of a relative, who was frequently seen together with the victim in his house in Barangay Tetuan.

Tamayo said they have persons of interest but declined to elaborate so as not to jeopardize the ongoing investigation.

The NBI-9 remains optimistic that it can solve the disappearance of Nuñal.
