K-pop girl group Momoland, known for their hit songs “Bboom Bboom” and “Baam,” have officially disbanded.
The six remaining members of Momoland announced their disbandment on Instagram.
“First of all ) we sincerely apologize to our Merries facing the news through an article. We are truly sorry for the late update,” said Momoland’s Nancy, JooE, Hyebin, Jane, Nayun and Ahin.
They added, “After a long deep discussion, the six of us members have decided to support each other to have a great new beginning going forward. Even though we have decided to take our own paths towards our dreams , us MOMOLAND will always be a team.”
“We sincerely thank our beloved Merries for providing us with precious memories and being by our side for the last seven years. Our Merries have been everything to us and always will be,” they said.
Momoland members added, “We are deeply sorry that we couldn’t let you guys know sooner but sincerely thank each and everyone that have patiently waited for us . Moving forward, please continue to support and love MOMOLAND and each and every member's path. Thank You.”
Last Jan. 27, MLD Entertainment, Momoland’s agency, said all six members decided to leave after the expiration of their contracts.
“First of all, I sincerely thank the fans who cherish and support Momoland. After long discussions with Momoland (Hyebin, Jane, Nayun, JooE, Ahin, Nancy), we agreed to respect each other's opinions and terminate the exclusive contract upon expiration of the contract period,” it said.
It said, “We express our deep gratitude to Momoland for being with us as artists for a long time. We will also sincerely support the members' future. Fans, please give unchanging love and encouragement to the six members who are about to start anew,” MLD Entertainment said.
Momoland debuted in November 2016 with the album “Welcome to Momoland” and with seven members: Hyebin, Nancy, Yeonwoo, Jane, Nayun, JooE and Ahin.
The following year, Daisy and Taeha were added to Momoland. In January 2022, Momoland released “Yummy Yummy Love."
