Police withheld the name of the victim upon the request of the family.

Capt. Francis Depasucat, head of Police Station 5, said the victim was playing in their family jeepney parked in front of their house with other children in their neighborhood.

The jeepney suddenly moved backwards, prompting the victim to jump from the vehicle.

However, she was stuck between the jeepney and the sedan parked behind, Depasucat said.

He said that residents rushed the victim to a hospital where she was declared dead on arrival.

Depasucat said that it was unknown why the jeepney moved while it was parked.

Police suspect that one of the children might have touched something in the driver’s seat that could have caused the jeepney to move.
