Concert in Angono, Rizal honors 110th birth anniversary of Maestro Lucio San Pedro


A concert featuring the Angono National Symphonic Band at 8 p.m., Feb. 15 at the municipal ground of Angono, Rizal will pay tribute to the Art Capital of the Country’s one of two national artists, Maestro Lucio San Pedro.

The office of Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon announced that the musical performance of the band founded by the father of San Pedro himself in the 1900’s will be playing the compositions of San Pedro starting at Plaza Rizal in front of the municipal hall.

Music lovers young and old alike are expected to converge at the town plaza to witness the municipal performance of the band which has won several awards and recognitions in the past.

San Pedro who was accorded National Artist for Music, was born on Feb. 11, 1913 in Angono.

The band used to be known locally at Banda Angono, Numero Uno, Angono Municipal Symphonic Band and Banda San Pedro prior to acquiring its present name.
