A man claiming to be an undersecretary from the Office of the President was nabbed by the Criminal Investigation Detection Group (CIDG), and was found to have been involved in a billion-peso scam on bogus appointments to the government, as well as government projects.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy have finally been able to talk to each other, and had a phone conversation on deepening cooperation between the Philippines and the war-embattled country.
The Philippines fired off a protest against China’s aggressive act in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) after a Chinese Coast Guard boat flashed a military-grade laser at a Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ship that was on a resupply mission. China has alleged that the PCG ship intruded into Chinese waters, while the United States said it was ready to invoke its Mutual Defense Treaty with the Philippines if needed.
