Stephen Loman leaning toward Fabricio Andrade in John Lineker rematch

Like many, third-ranked bantamweight contender Stephen “The Sniper” Loman is excited to see who will end up the new ruler of the division when former divisional king John “Hands of Stone” Lineker and top-ranked Fabricio “Wonder Boy” Andrade tangle anew for the vacant ONE Bantamweight World Title.
Lineker and Andrade are the main protagonists of ONE Fight Night 7 on Saturday, Feb. 25, inside the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
This is the rematch from their initial meeting last October, which ended in a no-contest following an inadvertent low blow from Andrade. Considering the last match, Loman believes Andrade’s got the mental edge entering this contest.
“Andrade’s confidence is so high right now. I feel like he’s gotten his groove and his striking is on another level now,” he said.
“His step-knee to the body is so lethal. That’s what makes him special – his knees, his kicks.”
Andrade’s striking looked pristine even in front of the dangerous Lineker, who’s known for his power and durability.
Lineker was durable alright, but Andrade battered him with punches, eventually shutting his right eye entering the third round.
For Loman, Lineker should swallow his pride and start reassessing his game plan entering this second match.
“On the flipside, I feel like if Lineker would tweak his game plan, he’d have a chance. He has very good wrestling and if he decides to use that more, I believe he has a good chance,” Loman said.
But whatever game plan Lineker comes up with on the 25th, Loman believes it’ll be Andrade who walks out of the stadium as the new ONE Bantamweight World Champion.
“If you’re gonna ask me to predict, I’d still have Andrade technical knockout,” Loman said. “I feel like he’s just gonna pick up where he left off from that fight.”
