Truly a band for the ages, Aegis is back and ready for another high-powered concert at Newport World Resorts. After giving a house-rocking performance at the New Year's Countdown to 2022, Aegis returns to the award-winning Newport Performing Arts Theater for an electrifying concert dubbed “Aegis Unlimited”. The legendary OPM band is giving fans a non-stop fill of their iconic rock anthems on March 4, 2023, 8 PM.
Emerging from the ‘90s crop of live bands, Aegis made a living out of touring clubs in Japan early on in their career. It was back in the Philippines where they captured the hearts of a full-blown nationwide audience with their “birit” rock and notable guitar riffs.
Behind the powerhouse vocals are sisters Juliet, Mercy, and Ken Sunot and backed by members Stella Pabico on keyboard, Vilma Goloviogo on drums, Weng Adriano on bass guitar, and Rey Abenoja on lead guitar Aegis has been riding the tides of the music scene since the launch of their massive debut album “Halik” in 1998, which gained quadruple platinum record status.
Their timeless hits “Sinta”, “Luha”, “Halik”, and “Basang Basa sa Ulan” made them a household name and a stalwart in the local music scene. The group’s songs gained even more popularity when they were used in the acclaimed musical “Rak of Aegis.”
