Filipino musician Eduard Banez (known for being a member of Star Magic Batch 15) is currently based in the US but he admitted that he misses the Philippines and showbiz so much.
Recall that he moved there after his family migrated to the U.S. in 2015.
“I set in motion proper right here throughout the U.S. as a result of fairly a number of alternate options I can have for a higher future. The edge proper right here is that the whole thing is completed on an equal foundation. But Manila stays to be my home," said Eduard during an interview with Asian TV Heritage Network and Global Asia Insider recently.
Eduard also went into newscasting and worked with Net25 and co-anchored by a tele-radio show with singer-comedian Arnell Ignacio on Radyo Singko 92.3 News FM. Eduard managed to complete his nursing course at the New Era University then.
In the US, Eduard got a chance to work with international pop musicians Justin Bieber and Sia.
“I got the chance to work with Justin Bieber and Sia. Justin is a perfectionist when it comes to his music. That’s what I remember about him. I also got to talk with Sia several times,” Eduard recalled.
He added: “I worked with Sia’s music video production. The heirlooms used came from different antique stores in Africa. Those antiques added so much beauty to the videos. The message of the song is the determination for the future of tomorrow’s children. That education is the most important."
While working abroad, Eduard still finds time to pursue his studies in political arts media history at the University of California in Los Angeles (UCLA).
He has been busy lately doing a comedy sitcom for Nickelodeon. On the side with his regular job at the popular California theme park, Six Flags, best known for its largest roller coasters in the world.
If this pandemic is over, he wants to go back to the Philippines to pick up from where he left off. But because of the travel restrictions and hassles, it will not be easy. So, that can wait.
Eduard admires Mariah Carey and Boyz 2 Men. And Nina in the local front.
A lot of plans but nothing is impossible. Only Covid put a halt to many activities and schedules.
“It’s not enough just to dream of your ideas. Make plans. You’ve got to take action to bring about their creation. Fuel your passion," said Eduard.
