Ospital ng Parañaque II inaugurated

Parañaque Mayor Eric Olivarez led on Friday (Feb. 10) the inauguration of Ospital ng Parañaque II (OsPar2) which now operates as a general hospital.

Olivarez said the Department of Health-Metro Manila Center for Health Development (DOH-MMCHD) issued to OsPar2 license to operate as level 1 hospital in December last year.

He said the OsPar2 located in Don Bosco was first inaugurated on Feb. 10, 2022 but was not able to operate immediately because it was used as an isolation facility at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The mayor said aside from license to operate as general hospital, the facility also secured a license from PhilHealth.

Olivarez said they are also working to get a license from the Malasakit Center to operate a One-Stop Shop where indigent patients in the city can efficiently access financial and medical assistance from agencies such as PhilHealth, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

He said the other hospital run by the city government, the Ospital ng Parañaque I (OsPar1) in Barangay La Huerta, has already got a license from Malasakit Center.

The mayor said senior citizens, persons with disability, and residents belonging to vulnerable sector can now avail of free services offered by OsPar 1 and 2.

During the inauguration, the blessing of the hospital was led by Fr. Crisostomo Magbitang, SDB.

He said the event was attended by 1st District Representative Edwin Olivarez, OsPar2 director Dr. Patrick Ismael Cruz, OsPar2 administrator Dr. Lemuel William Lee, City Administrator Voltaire dela Cruz, PhilHealth National Capital Region (NCR) Regional Office head Dr. Raul B. Tuquero, and DOH-NCR Director IV Dr. Aleli Annie Grace P. Sudiacal.
