Traffic enforcer demanding money arrested in entrapment operation in Tarlac City


TARLAC CITY -- A member of a traffic management group here who was allegedly demanding money from a driver was arrested during an entrapment operation in Brgy. San Jose on Sunday, Feb. 5.

The arrested TMG member was identified as Carlos Gatdula, 46, and resident of Shangrila Subd., Brgy San Jose, Tarlac City.

A driver complainant said that Gatdula took his driver’s license allegedly for an unregistered vehicle but did not issue a traffic citation ticket.

The complainant said he went to the suspect's house to get the TCT but Gatdula, the complainant added, demanded P2000.

Acting on the complaint, personnel of Tarlac City Police Station immediately set an entrapment operation at the residence of the suspect which resulted in his arrest.

The suspect is now temporarily detained at the custodial facility of Tarlac City police, while a case of robbery (extortion) is being prepared for filing in the city Prosecutor’s Office.
