Couple, pal killed in Pasay City ambush


A husband and wife and their male companion were shot dead by two unidentified gunmen in Pasay City early Thursday morning, Feb. 2.

Col. Frolian Uy, city police chief, identified the victims as couple Philip Jay Tan and Lilian Tan of Tabon-Tabon, Bacao, Oriental, Mindoro; and Richard Kevin delos of San Roque Batangas.

Uy said the incident happened at around 12:30 a.m. on BAC I-II Street near Depot Gate 3, Barangay I90, Zone 20.

Citing the statements of witnesses, the city police chief said the victims were on board a white Honda Civic with plate number BCX-860 when two unidentified men approached and shot them several times.

Uy said the victims sustained several gunshot wounds and died on the spot.

He said that after shooting the victims, the suspects immediately fled on foot to unknown direction.

During crime scene investigation, a team of Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) recovered five live ammunition and 18 slugs of a .45-caliber pistol.

The police also recovered inside the vehicle of the victims one .9mm pistol with six ammunition, one sachet of shabu, six cellular phones, and cash amounting to P43,020.

The bodies of the victims were brought to Veronica Funeral Home and their relatives were already informed of the incident.

Uy said police investigators are still determining the motive behind the killing.
