BOC seizes P10.36M worth of ketamine, foreigner arrested


Agents of the Bureau of Customs (BOC) have discovered some P10.36 million worth of ketamine during a controlled delivery operation in Pasig City.

BOC Commissioner Yogi Filemon Ruiz said the claimant of the package, a Chinese national, was arrested after receiving the three acupoint massage twisters where the more than 2,000 grams of ketamine was hidden.

Ketamine, which is being used as an anaesthetic for people and animals, is allegedly being used by some people to get high.

Ruiz said the package came from Malaysia and was discovered to be containing illegal drugs on Jan. 30.

He said the the Port of Clark immediately issued a Warrant of Seizure and Detention against the shipment. It was on Jan. 31 when the controlled delivery operation was conducted.
