A lady employee of the Office of the Ombudsman is in critical condition after she was shot by an unidentified man along Quezon Avenue in Barangay Doña Josefa, Quezon City on Wednesday morning, Feb. 1.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Galas Station (PS 11) identified the victim as Dianne Jane Paguiran, 37, of Barangay San Isidro, Quezon City.
According to the police, the victim was waiting for a ride going to her office on Quezon Ave. near corner Cordillera St. at around 8:20 a.m. Wednesday when the suspect approached her.
The suspect pulled out a gun, forcibly grabbed the victim’s bag and shot her in the right chest. He fled towards Quezon Memorial Circle.
The victim was rushed to the Capitol Medical Center for treatment and is in critical condition, police said.
Police said that the victim is employed at the Office of the Deputy Ombudsman for the Military and Other Law Enforcement Offices (MOLEO).
Authorities recovered two fired cartridges from a gun of unknown caliber, a deformed fired bullet jacket, and fired bullet core fragment.
QCPD director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III ordered a thorough investigation on the incident.
The cops also obtained closed-circuit television footage in the area to identify the suspect.
The police director urged those who have relevant information regarding the incident to coordinate with them for the resolution of the case.
