The all-Filipino crew composed of Jinn Marrey “Palos” Limatao, Justin “Tino” Grimaldo, Mark Anthony “Bob” Urbina, Mark Jubert “Shanks” Rubina and team captain Juan Carlo “BDz” Manalo dominated the tournament to finish with a 6-0-1 record and secure the top spot.

Execration’s lone defeat came at the hands of Geek Slate which also secured a spot in the major after finishing second with a 5-2 record including a crucial 2-1 victory over another all-Filipino team Blacklist International in the final day of Tour 1 last Monday, Jan. 30.

The Malaysia-based esports team is also bannered by Filipino talents led by Rolen “Skem” Ong along with Nikko “Force” Bilakura and Joshua “Kokz” Marano.

Blacklist, composed of a powerhouse crew led by Carlo “Kuku” Palad and Timothy “Tims” Randrup, on the other hand, fell short of securing the third seed in the tournament which could have also booked it a spot to the majors.

Blacklist finished in tie with Talon Esports at the third spot of the standings with identical 4-3 records. The team backed by Tier One, however, fell short in the tie-breaker dropping a 2-0 decision to Talon.

Also not as fortunate were the last The International SEA representatives Fnatic and Boom Esports who both fell to the Division II after landing at the bottom two spots of standings.

Boom ended up at the 7th spot with a 2-5 slate while Fnatic finished dead last with a 1-6 record.
