Heavy rains force suspension of classes, work in Zamboanga

ZAMBOANGA CITY -- Mayor John Dalipe has suspended classes in all levels in public and private schools due to strong rains which hit the city on Tuesday morning, Jan. 31.

The order, contained in Executive Order JD 2023- 019, also suspended work in the local government unit of Zamboanga at around 3 p.m. on the same day.

However, offices doing essential work were directed by the mayor to maintain a skeleton workforce.

Frontline offices were also advised to also maintain enough personnel in their offices for possible augmentation during emergency response.

Chiefs of national agencies and private businesses shall have the discretion to suspend or cancel work in their respective offices.
