Korean actor and drama “Reborn Rich” star Song Joong-ki has remarried.
On Jan. 30, Song Joong-ki, 37, announced that he married his British girlfriend Katy Louise Saunders, 38, and that she is pregnant.
Song Joong-ki and Saunders tied the knot one month after the actor admitted that he was in a relationship last December.
This is his second marriage in more than five years. On Oct. 31, 2017, Song Joong-ki married actress Song Hye-kyo. However, they got divorced in July 2019.
In a letter addressed to fans, Song Joong-ki said, “I greet you today because I want to share with you the most precious and happy promise in my life.”
“I vowed to spend the rest of my life with Katy Louise Saunders, who has been by my side, supporting me, caring for me, and spending precious time with me. She had her good heart and lived her life passionately. She is admirably wise and a wonderful person. Thanks to her, I am becoming a better person,” he said.
Song Joong-ki said, “Naturally, we wished for the dream of creating a happy family together. We've put in a lot of effort to keep our promises to each other, and thankfully, a precious life has come together between the two of us.”
“And today, we are on our way back after registering our marriage to start our lives as a couple based on deep trust and love,” he said of their marriage.
“Just like now, the two of us will look in the same direction and walk beautifully together in the days to come. We sincerely thank all the fans who always cherish us unchangingly,” he said.
“In particular, I will try to fly higher as an individual and as an actor with the wings of greater responsibility and passion in the future, based on the support and wishes of the Ki Aile people who have been the greatest strength throughout my acting life. I hope everyone is healthy and happy until the day we can meet and greet each other in person,” he said.
Saunders’ IMDB profile stated that she was born in London in July 1984, and was known for appearing in “The Lizzie McGuire Movie” in 2003, “Los Borgia” in 2006, and “Third Person” in 2013.
“She's of English and Colombian descent. She moved to Rome, Italy, when she was a child,” according to IMDB.
On Dec. 26, Song Joong-ki, confirmed that he was in a relationship through his agency, HighZium Studio.
"Yes, it's true that Song Joong Ki is in a relationship with a non-celebrity; they've been together for about a year. She is from Britain, and their mutual friend introduced them to each other. She doesn't work in the entertainment industry," the agency said, according to SBS News.
Saunders and Song Joong-ki had been photographed together in different events and places including arriving together at Incheon International Airport on Dec. 9.
