DOH reports less than 200 new Covid-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) recorded 199 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, Jan. 28.

Active infections nationwide dropped slightly to 10,038 versus the 10,094 active cases recorded the previous day.

The National Capital Region still logged the most cases in the last 14 days with 858.

Calabarzon came in second with 433 cases, Western Visayas with 256, Central Luzon with 216, and Davao Region with 196.

The Philippines' hospital bed utilization remained at low-risk status with an occupancy rate of 18.6 percent.

The DOH said 4,978 hospital beds are currently occupied, while 21,806 are vacant.

The running total of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the Philippines stood at 4,072,844, including 3,997,049 recoveries and 65,757 fatalities.
