CEBU CITY – Police arrested four wanted persons in Central Visayas in separate operations on Friday, Jan. 27.
The suspects were identified as Justine Villamor, Archie Catipay, Melvin Pacaldo Madrid, and Teodolo Centinales Pogoy.
Villamor, who is facing frustrated murder charges, was arrested by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Lapu-Lapu City Field Unit, Regional Intelligence Unit (RIU-7), and City Mobile Force Company (CMFC) in Barangay Mabolo here.
He was arrested on a warrant issued by Presiding Judge Leah Iligan Geraldez of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 20 here. The court recommended a P200,000 bail for the suspect.
Catipay, who is also wanted for frustrated murder, was nabbed by the CIDG-Mandaue City Field Unit, RIU 7, and CMFC in Barangay Mabolo. Catipay is the fourth most wanted person on the provincial level, police said.
Madrid, 36, was arrested by the Cebu City Police Office Station 4 in Barangay Bonbon, Cebu City.
He had a standing warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 6539 or the Anti-Carnapping Act of 1972.
The arrest warrant against Madrid was issued by Presiding Judge Yvette Christine Rosario Labrador Soleng of the RTC Branch 18 here.
Pogoy, of Barangay Calatrava, Carmen, Bohol, was cornered in Magnaga, Davao de Oro. He is facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.
Brig. Gen. Jerry Bearis, chief of the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7), said science and analytics were employed through the PRO-7 Center for Public Safety Analysis to maximize the tracking of most wanted persons in Central Visayas.
"The capability enhancement of police on investigation and analysis of criminal databases delivers a remarkable outcome bringing most wanted persons into justice," Bearis said.
