Google Philippines’ Bernadette Nacario receives outstanding leadership award

Google Philippines’ Country Director Bernadette Nacario was recently recognized by the Women’s Institute for Sustainable Development, Opportunities and Mentoring (WISDOM) and the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines  (AmCham Philippines) as one of the country’s most outstanding women corporate leaders.

WISDOM and AmCham Philippines awarded Nacario, along with other select women leaders, to acknowledge her contributions in weaving wonders in the Philippines’ corporate landscape.

In 2022, Google continued to launch high-impact programs to help Filipinos reap the benefits of the country’s growing digital economy. Some of these initiatives include the 39,000 Google Career Certificate scholarships for digital skilling with partners like the Globe Group, the internet safety song “Mag-ingat” (Be Safe Online) with Ben&Ben, and the Be Internet Awesome YouTube series with PLDT Home among many others.

As part of its commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), Google also sustains local campaigns such as Digiskarteng Pinay and Pride Conversations to show the importance of championing DEI in and out of the company and of providing visibility to underrepresented voices.

“I truly appreciate and am humbled by the recognition given by WISDOM and AmCham Philippines,” said Nacario. “It is an honor to lead a team of Googlers that is always passionate and purpose-driven in delivering work that not only provides value to businesses and partners but brings the transformative benefits of technology to more Filipinos. This award is a reflection of Google’s commitment to working closely with our partners to help shape an internet that is helpful, safe, and inclusive.”

Before joining Google, Nacario served as the Country Manager for Systems of IBM Philippines, and Apple Philippines and Guam. A veteran in the Information Technology industry with extensive background in General Management, Sales, Marketing, and Channel Management, she held various leadership positions at other reputable tech brands such as HP, Microsoft, and Siemens.
