The Pasay City government launched the “Operation Timbang Plus” (OPT), the annual weighing and height measurement of all children 0 to 59 months old or below five years old to determine their nutritional status.
Rubiano said the city’s OPT Plus teams -- composed of barangay health workers, midwife, barangay nutrition scholars and other community volunteers -- will conduct a house-to-house visit to determine the weight and height of every child aged o to 59 months old.
The mayor said “Operation Timbang Plus” is being conducted in every barangay nationwide every January to March of the year, to identify the families with children that need immediate attention.
Rubiano said the OPT results will be used by the local government units in planning the nutrition programs of barangays and the nutrition office.
The mayor is urging all parents in the city to determine the nutritional status of their children.
