Bambanti Festival under way in Isabela

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela – The week-long Bambanti Festival formally opened here on Monday, Jan. 23.

Vice Gov. and Director General of the 2023 Bambanti Festival Faustino “Bojie” Dy III kicked off the event with the Village Agri-Ecotourism Exhibit and Sale showcasing the best products and creative interpretation of giant bambanti from each municipality and city in the province.

Dy said the Bambanti Festival is a thanksgiving to the people of Isabela especially to farmers who bring honor to the province.

He said the province reaped numerous awards because of the farmers’ diligence, outstanding work ethic, and unyielding survivor spirit.

Bambanti is the Ilocano term for scarecrow, the guardian of their fields and farms.
